Max

Most of us learned most of what we know from Max. Max teaches a series of bondage workshops at the CSPC on the first Sunday of the month. Several times a year, Max teaches a weekend-long bondage intensive class, which is excellent if you are serious about improving your bondage skills. Finally, Max is available for private lessons. We recommend Max unreservedly.

Other Instructors

There are a number of excellent bondage instructors who sometimes pass through Seattle. We are particularly fond of Midori and the Two Knotty Boys. Mark Yu also occasionally makes a guest appearance at Max's workshops. We find that learning from different instructors helps deepen our knowledge.

Equipment

Twisted Monk is our favorite source of finished hemp rope, as well as a complete line of accessories (including EMT shears) and books. His website also contains a number of excellent instructional videos.

Our class rope is 1/4" braided white nylon/poly from Home Depot. Tell them we sent you, and ask for the Suspended Animation discount.

Books

The last few years have seen the publication of a number of excellent instructional books. We particularly like:

FetLife

FetLife is Facebook for perverts. If you aren't on FetLife, you're missing out. There are numerous useful rope groups on FetLife; we particularly like Suspended Animation, Seattle Rope Shenanigans, and Riggers And Rope Sluts.

Center for Sex Positive Culture

The CSPC (aka the Wet Spot) is our spiritual home. They host an astonishing range of classes, parties, and social events. You can usually find us at Bondage Is The Point on the first Sunday of the month.

The Foundation for Sex Positive Culture

The FSPC (sister organization of the CSPC) produces the Seattle Erotic Arts Festival as well as many sexual education programs.
